HAH.

History 101: The ending of the last big ice age inevitably comes up. Teacher mentions there have bee little ice ages, that when one started up in Medieval Europe, the climate went berserk. Teacher actually has the guts to say we know fuck all about the climate & that it's "politically important" for us to have "global warming." THANK YOU. Final-fucking-ly, someone has the fucking guts to say it. I find it funny that the people who rave on about the environment are generally the ones who have the audacity to think that humanity solely impacts it, or that humanity can grasp something so intricate, & that it is really more or less all about fucking politics.

No shit humans have fucked over the Earth. Of course it's better to recycle & buy things that use recycled stuff & find alternate fuel sources (preferably clean ones). It's stupid to act like we aren't harming the Earth, like we aren't depleting our resources, like we aren't acting like mindless idiots half the time. But it is equally stupid to believe that humanity knows how the Earth works entirely (and even more idiotic to listen to rich assholes who own energy inefficient houses & fly private jets GORDONNA).

In other news, we supposedly get to make telescopes in Astronomy on Monday. There is a deaf girl in the class, so she has an interpreter, & so it's difficult to pay attention, because the sign language is so amazing to watch. But since i don't understand it... And Japanese class should start up again in earnest soon. Breaking news (especially for Christa (?) & Deanna) is that Japan's Prime Minister has stepped down already. They liked some guy whose name i don't remember & Christa suggested sending emails to tell people to vote him back in office despite his not being on the ballot. In elementary Japanese (or not even that), with no kanji. So i imitated a kid & said, "My mommy says you should vote for..." & people laughed.

Deanna, Christa, & Ying Yu are also studying abroad in Japan in the spring, & for the former two, homestay is required. Thus it was decided that Christa's "mama-san" would eventually come to the conclusion that, "Oh my god, i got the retarded American!" & that she would break down on friends whilst out buying groceries about her American student who sits around watching Japanese soap operas & corrupting her small child. She made a comment about wearing her Ash Ketchum hat off the plane, & the subsequent reaction. "I'm going to try & hide that I'm an Otaku," Christa said. (So then "mama-san" will go: "OH MY GOD, I GOT AN OTAKU.") Am kind of jealous, but Kate's not going, so... Want to try for Italia next fall; there's a SACI scholarship that pays full tuiton... you just have to win it.

Tomorrow: Painting 1 (whyyyy), Psychology 101, & German.

And i noticed last night that this month is a holiday month. It's Ramadan, & at the end of the month is Yom Kippur & Rosh Hashanah. So you all have fun with that. |}
