If there is anyone who reads this who lives in California, please vote no on Proposition 8. Amazing it's even up for voting; come on, CA, you've got the reputation as being more liberal than this.

So vote no, because it's unfair for such discrimination to exist. One can make the case for marriage being nothing more than a construct of society, but societies have always attached things to it, whether it be land or insurance, & there some people who just want to be seriously married. You know the stereotypical little girl who wants to be a bride when she grows up. Why should she be denied that just because she wants to marry another girl? Answers like "because it's wrong," "because it's unnatural," "because God says gays are bad" are completely, totally, & utterly wrong, so don't even.

It's stupid.
